Laptops and netbooks are gradually fading into the background, many now choose less bulky mobile devices that allow you to communicate via the Internet with your family and friends, even on the go. Previously, "live" Internet communication could be implemented only on computers and laptops, but now it is available for tablets and smartphones with Android OS.
Skype on Android mobile devices gives the user almost the same capabilities that are available to him on stationary devices:
- file exchange;
- exchange of short messages;
- conferences, video, audio calls;
- calls to cell phones and landlines at a lower cost.
The interface of the program for tablets is being improved with each version. Skype is "embedded" in the phone book menu to make calls from it. The program is adapted for smartphones and tablet computers of any diagonal. Skype for Android tablet supports 3G and 4G, but Wi-Fi is better.
In order for the program to work on an Android-based tablet with maximum quality, the following points must be taken into account:
- the version of the installed Android OS must be at least 2.2;
- you need to find out which processor is on the tablet (Intel processors do not support Skype);
- the amount of free memory must be at least 27 MB;
- the clock frequency of the processor for making video calls must be at least 800 MHz;
- you can manually activate video calling in Skype settings. If this parameter is not displayed in your menu, then the minimum Skype requirements are not met.
You can download the latest version of Skype for Android OS from the official website of the developer.
