In the Windows operating system, it is possible to customize the appearance of icons, fonts, windows of launched applications and other elements for the personal needs of the user. If you find it difficult to read the text on the screen, change the settings. To remove small print, follow a series of steps.
Instructions
Step 1
To remove small print in captions to icons and window names, open the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu, select the "Appearance and Themes" category, click on the "Display" icon or on any task from the list at the top of the window. If the panel has a classic look, select the "Display" icon right away. The "Properties: Display" dialog box opens.
Step 2
In the window that opens, go to the "Design" tab. In the "Font Size" section, the default font is Normal. Use the drop-down list to set a larger font. Select Large Fonts to display large fonts, and Extra Large Fonts to display very large fonts. Having decided on the choice, click on the "Apply" button.
Step 3
To remove the small print from the titles of active and inactive windows, tooltips, highlighted menu items, menu bars and other elements, click the Advanced button on the same Appearance tab. A new window "Additional Appearance" will open. In the lower part of the window, in the "Element" section, select from the drop-down list the elements whose font you want to edit, and set the desired value in the "Font" section in the "Size" field using the drop-down list, or enter the value from the keyboard. Click OK to close the Additional Appearance window. In the "Properties: Display" window, click the "Apply" button and close the window.
Step 4
To increase the size of objects and text on the screen, go to the Options tab and click the Advanced button. A new window will open. Go to the "General" tab and select "Special Settings" from the drop-down list in the "Scale Factor" ("Scale (dots per inch)") section. In the "Scale selection" window that appears, drag the "ruler" or set the size you need in percentage terms using the drop-down list. Click OK. When prompted, restart your computer.
