A zero file that is not deleted in any way baffles many users. No matter how much effort is made, you will not be able to delete such a file on your own. Special programs will help you get rid of the unwanted folder.
Necessary
file manager Total Commander
Instructions
Step 1
Restart your computer and try deleting the file again. Sometimes it helps. See if the program you want to get rid of is running. If the file is open, you cannot delete it. Close it and try again.
Step 2
Make sure that this file does not apply to folders with encrypted data. If so, deselect the "Encrypt data" option. To do this, uncheck the box.
Step 3
Check to see if the system folder name is the same as the folder you want to delete. If, after deleting a file, it reappears after a reboot, and when you delete it again, the system notifies you that you cannot delete a file named CB6S45EY7W or similar, there is a possibility that this file is a virus. Install an antivirus program and check your computer for viruses.
Step 4
If all of the above didn't work for you, use Explorer to open the folder that contains the locked file. In the menu, select the "Tools" section, then "Folder Options", then click on the tab called "View". In the Files and Folders section, look for a category that says Use Basic File Sharing. If checked, uncheck it and click OK.
Step 5
Return to the zero file, right-click the context menu and select "Properties", then "Security". Click on "Advanced", uncheck all the boxes, confirm the operation by clicking on OK. Reboot and try again to get rid of the non-deleteable file.
Step 6
There is another way. You will need the file manager Total Commander. He sees all encrypted programs and files that may be on your computer. Open Total Commander, find the zero file, open the task manager by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys at the same time. There, look at the process with the same name, stop it and delete the folder.
