A large number of files that are downloaded from the Internet are zipped (the capacity in the archive has been reduced). And there are situations when the download is interrupted when downloading such a file. It is not always convenient to download a file again, especially when its capacity reaches ten gigabytes. In this case, the more logical action would be to unpack the part of the archive that you managed to download.

Necessary

Computer, under-downloaded archive, video player VLC player

Instructions

Step 1

Right-click on the undelivered archive and select the "Extract files" item in the menu that appears. The WinRAR menu will open. Select the folder where the files will be extracted. Further in the archiver menu, find the "Miscellaneous" item, in which select "Leave corrupted files on disk". Then click OK. After a message about the impossibility of continuing the operation appears, click "Cancel". Now go to the folder that you specified for unpacking the archive. If everything went well, the files from the archive should be there.

Step 2

If a video file is saved in the archive, then you can view its contents using the VLC player. Download this player from the Internet and install it on your computer. Set this video player as default. Then click on the archive with the right mouse button and select "Open" from the menu. In the window that opens, double-click on the video file with the left mouse button. The video file will start playing.

Step 3

In the archive menu, right-click on the file. In the menu that appears, select the "Restore Archives" command. In the window that appears, click on the folder where you want to place the restored archive, as well as the type of archive (ZIP or RAR). Then click OK. After completing the operation, go to the folder that you have chosen to save the corrected archive. This folder will contain a copy of the not downloaded archive, but only with the information that was downloaded. Click on this archive with the right mouse button, and, accordingly, select "Extract archive". Select the folder where the information will be extracted and then click OK. Next, go to the selected folder. The extracted files should be there.
