Instructions

Step 1

If you need to specify the path in any Windows dialog box, then find the button with the triangle icon next to the path to the program input field. Click on this button. In the list that opens, find the entry you are interested in. It usually looks like this: C: Program Files Program name program name.exe. If the system on your computer is located, for example, on disk D, then the first in the path entry will be "D:".

Step 2

If there is no program in the drop-down list, then there is a button with the name "Browse" next to it. Click it and in the dialog box, clicking on the plus signs next to the folder names, open the entire path to the executable file. That is, start by clicking the "Disk (C:)" folder, followed by the plus sign for the "Program Files" folder, then the folder with the name of the program you are looking for. In this folder, click the program_name.exe file. The entire path will be in the input field. Click on the Enter key or on the "Continue" button in the dialog box.

Step 3

If there is no path selection button, or you enter the path in the Windows command interpreter, or create an executable file, then to avoid typing the entire path from the keyboard, you can enter the path by copying it from the address bar. To do this, go to "Explorer" and open the folder properties window by clicking on the menu items "Tools - Folder Options …". On the "View" tab, check that there is a checkbox next to the "Show path in the address bar" value.

Step 4

Starting from the root directory, go all the way, clicking on the plus signs, to the program folder in the Program Files folder. The entire path to the program will be written in the address bar.

Step 5

Using the context menu or the "Ctrl" + "C" key combination, copy the path to the clipboard, and then paste it into the form or command line. Put “” after the folder name and type the name of the executable file on the keyboard. The path to the program is registered.
