To quickly recover the Windows operating system in case of a failure in its work, it is recommended to create rescue disks. To ensure more complete data safety, it is better to use an image of the system partition.
Necessary
- - DVD disc;
- - Partition Manager.
Instructions
Step 1
You can create an image of the Windows operating system and the rescue disk required to boot this image without using additional programs. Open the control panel. Go to the "System and Security" menu.
Step 2
Open the "Backup and Restore" submenu. In the left column, find the item "Create a system recovery disc" and navigate to it. Insert a blank disc into your DVD drive, select this drive in the program window and click the "Create Disc" button. Wait while the system writes the required files to disk.
Step 3
Now create an image of the operating system that will be used to restore Windows to a working state. Open the Backup and Restore menu.
Step 4
Select "Create a system image". Select the location of the future archive. We recommend using external USB drives because it will help restore the system even in the event of a hard drive failure.
Step 5
Click "Next". A new window will display a list of hard disk partitions to be backed up. If all the parameters are specified correctly, then click the "Archive" button to start the process.
Step 6
If you need to save not only the system partition, but also other important files, then use the Partition Manager program. Install and run this utility.
Step 7
Open the "Wizards" tab and select "Copy Section". In the next window, click the "Next" button. Specify the hard disk partition you want to keep. Click "Next".
Step 8
Select the storage location for the future copy of the partition. You can use the unallocated area of the hard drive or third-party media. Click "Next".
Step 9
Click the Finish button to complete the presets. Now open the "Changes" tab. Select the "Apply Changes" function. Wait while a copy of the partition is created.
