It is customary to call an archive file copies of several files, combined into one file - an archive, to save computer memory. Working with compressed files for their intended purpose is not possible until the moment of the unzip operation. The most common archiver used by most users is WinZip.

Instructions
Step 1
Download and install the WinZip program on your computer (The application is not included in the Microsoft Windows package and is paid!).
Step 2
Call the context menu of the file or folder to be archived and open the Add to Zip link to create a compressed archive.
Step 3
Enter the name and full path to the selected file or folder in the Add dialog box that opens and click the Add button to confirm the command.
Step 4
An alternative way to create a compressed archive of the selected file or folder is the following sequence of actions. Launch the WinZip application and select the New Archive item from the File menu of the top toolbar of the program window.
Step 5
Specify the required volume and folder to place the created archive in the create in: field of the New Archive dialog box that opens and enter the value of the desired archive name in the “File name” full.

Click OK to confirm your choice and go to the Add item on the top toolbar of the WinZip application window.
Step 7
Specify the selected files or folders in the dialog box that opens and click the Add button to confirm the command.
Step 8
Return to the File menu on the top toolbar of the application window and choose Close Archive to apply the selected changes.
Step 9
Call the context menu of the file or folder to be unzipped by right-clicking and go to the Extract to item to perform the operation of extracting compressed files.
Step 10
Specify the required volume and folder for placing the extracted files from the archive in the opened dialog box and click the Extract button to confirm the command execution.
Step 11
Launch the WinZip application to perform the same operation with a preliminary launch of the archiver.
Step 12
Specify the Open Archive command in the File menu of the upper toolbar of the program window and open the selected folder.
Step 13
Select the desired file and click the "Open" button to display the name of the selected file in the WinZip application window.
Step 14
Select the files to be unzipped with a mouse click and go to the Extract menu in the upper toolbar of the program window.
Step 15
Specify the desired volume and folder to place the extracted documents in the dialog box that opens and apply the checkbox to the All Files field.

Click the Extract button to apply the selected changes.
