The presence of an expensive video card and a good monitor is still not a sufficient condition for comfortable work at a computer, since their correct setting is necessary. An improperly configured video system, even the most modern and expensive one, will only disappoint you and fatigue your eyes.
Necessary
Computer running Windows operating system (XP, Windows 7), basic computer skills
Instructions
Step 1
To configure the video adapter and monitor in Windows XP, open the desktop context menu by right-clicking the mouse. Select Properties. In the open window go to the "Settings" tab.
Step 2
By moving the slider of the "Screen Resolution" setting, set the resolution that will allow you to work without eye strain. The value of this parameter is very individual, depending on the user's preferences. If the image is too small at the selected resolution, go to the General tab and increase the Scale Factor value.
Step 3
Choose a value from the Color Quality picker. The number of colors and tints reproduced here is set. The higher the value, the better the rendering of complex graphics.
Step 4
Open the "Properties of the monitor connection module" by clicking on the "Advanced" button. On the "Monitor" tab, set the value of the screen refresh rate parameter. The higher the value, the less your eyes will fatigue from monitor flickering. Click the "Apply" button for all changes to take effect.
Step 5
If your operating system is Windows 7, use the dccw.exe application. Launch it from the "Control Panel" applet "Screen" by clicking on the "Color Calibration" button. The Setup Wizard window will open, where, following the proposed actions, you can fine-tune your computer's video system.
