The comfort of working on a computer depends on the monitor settings. If the wrong settings are chosen, this can threaten not only an eternal feeling of irritation and nervousness, but also headache, decreased visual acuity, and nausea. To change monitor settings, use the capabilities of the system or your video card.
Instructions
Step 1
To change the size of windows, fonts, icons, and the appearance of windows, open Control Panel from the Start menu. In the Appearance and Themes section, select the Display icon. Or click in any place of the desktop that is free of files and folders with the right mouse button, in the drop-down menu, left-click on the item "Properties". The "Properties: Display" dialog box opens.
Step 2
The general appearance of the desktop, the appearance of folders and the "Start" menu is configured on the "Themes" tab. At the bottom of the window, you will see a visual display of the selected theme. Use the drop-down list to select the theme you like. To install a custom theme, select Browse and browse to the desired theme. Click the Apply button.

Adjust the size of the image on the monitor in the "Options" tab. In the Screen Resolution section, use the sliders to select a resolution that suits your eyes. Click the "Apply" button, confirm your choice. For lamp monitors, set the screen refresh rate (screen flickering). To do this, on the current tab, click the "Advanced" button. In the window that opens, go to the "Monitor" tab. Check the box "Hide modes that the monitor cannot use". Use the drop-down list to set the desired frequency. Click OK and Apply.
Step 4
Customize the appearance of folders, size and anti-aliasing of fonts in the "Appearance" tab using the "Advanced" button. On the "Desktop" tab, set the wallpaper by selecting it from the drop-down list, or click the "Browse" button and specify the path to a custom image. Set custom icons for standard folders by clicking "Customize Desktop" and "Change Icon".
Step 5
Open the control panel for your graphics card settings. Adjust the color, brightness and contrast of the image on the corresponding tab. You can also adjust the contrast using the system options. Through the start menu, call the "Control Panel", click on the "Accessibility" icon, in the window that opens, go to the "Screen" tab. Use the "Settings" button and the drop-down list to set the combination of colors and fonts that are comfortable for the eyes. Confirm your choice, close the window.
