If you remember the first text editors, you probably know that in these programs printing a text document was a whole thing: you had to type the print command and specify the full path to the file. Now, with the release of Windows and modern text editors, such as MS Word or OpenOffice Writer, it has become very easy to print a document. Below we will consider how to print a document in MS Word - one of the most popular text editors.

Necessary

  • - Computer running Windows operating system;
  • - Printer;
  • - text editor MS Word.

Instructions

Step 1

In Windows, the printing process is standardized, and basically the same for most programs, except for small differences. There are several ways to print documents in Word.

Step 2

The first way. Click on the printer icon in the toolbar. This is the simplest method, but nothing can be configured in it: neither the number of copies, nor the orientation of the document (portrait or landscape), nor the printer to which the document will be output. However, if this is unimportant to you, you can use this method. When printing, a message may appear that part of the document is outside the printable area. More often than not, you can ignore this and print the document anyway. True, in rare cases, when such a message appears, part of the text may indeed go beyond the printable area. In this case, increase the margins and repeat the printing process to a positive result.

Step 3

Second way. Press "File - Print" or CTRL-P on your keyboard. In the window that appears, you can configure which printer the document will be output to, as well as the number of copies that you want to print (one by default). Here you can also specify which pages to print (even, odd or all), as well as specific page numbers, which is convenient when sorting a document by copies or if you need to print not the entire bulky document, but only some of it. If you want to set the orientation of the document, in what color the document will be printed (in gray tones or color), then in the same window go to the printer properties, there you can configure everything.

Step 4

When finished, click OK and the document will be printed.
