Step 1
Open the menu of your mobile device. Go to the communication parameters and activate the enabled mode for the infrared port. Please note that the location of the menu for this function depends entirely on your phone settings.

If you are going to use it often for any purpose, make a shortcut button for it so that you do not have to go into various menus of your phone each time in search of turning on the infrared port. Please note that on some phones, such as older Sony Ericsson models, the function is available by pressing the Go to menu.

In order to transfer data via the infrared port between devices, pair them, having previously activated the function in both. Bring them as close to each other as possible, preferably at a distance of no more than 1-2 centimeters, while making sure that there are no objects between them that interfere with the transfer of data.
Step 4
Find the required file and select the "Send via infrared port" item in the context menu. Wait for the end of the transfer, it may take a long time, especially if pairing occurs between phone models of different manufacturers. It is also possible if the phone is connected to the infrared port of the computer.
Step 5
If you want to enable the infrared port in your computer, install the appropriate drivers on the data transfer device, which often include programs that enable it. If you don't have one, try activating the port from the appropriate menu on your computer's control panel. If the infrared port module is integrated into your motherboard, the drivers can be installed from the same disk. Insert it into the drive and specify the path to it through the hardware connection wizard. Select to install the device and restart your computer.
