Nowadays, most printer users do not buy a new cartridge every time they run out of ink or toner. Many have adapted to refuel them on their own. This applies not only to inkjet printers, but also to laser printers. The main income of the company comes from the sale of consumables. Therefore, a special chip was developed, which was supposed to block the reusable use of cartridges. But, in fact, such chips are easily reset to zero.

Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - printer cartridge;
  • - programmer.

Instructions

Step 1

The principle of the chip is as follows. The printer memory contains data on the cartridge yield. Each time a page is printed, the printer captures the information. And when the number of printed pages is equal to the cartridge yield, a notification appears that the cartridge needs to be replaced. This may still contain ink or toner. Even if you refill the device with ink or toner, it will still be impossible to print. When the cartridge chip is reset to zero, the memory data is cleared and page counting restarts. That is why it is necessary to reset the cartridge chip after refilling it.

Step 2

The first thing that is required of you is the purchase of a programmer. These are, of course, additional costs. But it is better to buy a programmer once and refill the cartridges yourself, than to buy a new cartridge each time or pay for its refueling at a service center. You need to buy exactly the one that supports your printer model. Typically, one programmer can support more than ten printer models. So be sure to check that you have your printer model among them.

Step 3

After purchasing the programmer, be sure to read the instructions. Although there are many models of programmers, the order of zeroing the chips is approximately the same. You need to act like this. Remove the cartridge from the printer. Bring the programmer to the cartridge, after which the indicator on it should light up. This means that contact has been made with the cartridge.

Step 4

Now hold the programmer in this position for about ten seconds. After that, the indicator should change its color to another. A change in the color of the device indicator will mean that the cartridge chip has been successfully zeroed. This operation can be completed. The programmer can be used many times, except that from time to time you have to replace the batteries for it.
