For most users, Kaspersky Anti-Virus has become the “best” default. However, no matter how good an antivirus is, it, by definition, is not capable of making the right decisions with 100% accuracy. anti-virus databases take time to update. Files that are suspicious are quarantined by Kaspersky, renaming them and making them impossible to run. However, you can quarantine any other file as well.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to move the required file to quarantine, in the main program window go to the "Computer protection" tab. In the upper right part of the window, find the "Quarantine" button, which looks like a radioactive threat icon. Click on it with the left mouse button. The "Protection status" window will open.

Step 2

Open the "Detected threats" tab. Select "Quarantine" from the drop-down list on this tab. Then, at the very bottom of the window, find the blue link - "Move to quarantine". Click on the link and in the window that opens, select the file that, in your opinion, should be placed in the antivirus quarantine zone, and then click on the "Open" button.

Step 3

Click on the plus sign at the top of the tab, opposite the word Status. You will see the date the file was added, its status, the fact that infection was detected / not detected, and the file address. The very fact that the file or folder you specified is in this antivirus tab indicates that the data you specified has been quarantined.

Step 4

Open the quarantine folder safely. After the antivirus finishes scanning files, only those files that are only with a certain degree of probability dangerous are quarantined. You will not be able to run Trojans or viruses by simply opening this folder. the data placed in it undergoes preliminary renaming and encryption.

Step 5

Remember that during subsequent updates of the anti-virus databases, the quarantine files will also be rechecked, and if it is proved that the file is not dangerous, then it can be restored. This usually happens with executable files of suspected licensed programs.

Step 6

Open the Protection Status window, navigate to the quarantine files and select the.exe files of those programs in which you are confident and want to extract them from quarantine. Right-click on the file to bring up the context menu. In this menu, select the "Restore" item, after which the file will be extracted from the quarantine zone and restored to its previous location.
