Instructions

Step 1

One of the most popular recording programs today is the Nero package. You only need one utility from this package, and absolutely any version. Recommendations when choosing a version of the program will be as follows: the lower the performance of the computer, the older the version should be chosen.

Step 2

Most likely, this package is already installed on your computer. To check this, click the Start menu, expand All Programs and find the Nero directory. If you could not find this folder with shortcuts, therefore, you need to download the program and install it.

Step 3

Open Nero Express. In the main window of the program, select the type of data that will be sent to the blank disk. The section "Data" will be used as an example, i.e. recording files of different formats. Click on this item and select the type of disc (CD or DVD).

Step 4

Now you need to open the tray of your drive, load a blank disc and push the tray or press a button on the drive. In the Nero Express recording window that opens, click the "Add" button on the right side.

Step 5

In the "Add folders and files" window that opens, specify the path to the required files and directories, select them and click the "Add" button. To quickly navigate to the system catalogs (My Documents, My Computer, etc.) use the "Shortcuts" block.

Step 6

When adding files and folders, watch the indicator strip at the bottom of the program window. You can see stripes of yellow and red on the ruler. The red bar is the last mark for adding files. As soon as the storage strip of the disc is beyond this strip, it becomes impossible to write the disc. Therefore, delete several files so that the indicator turns back to its previous green color.

Step 7

Then click the Next button to go to the next step. In the "Final Burn Settings" window, select the drive and burn speed. The recommended speed will be set automatically by means of the program itself. To start recording, press the button of the same name and wait for the process to end.

Step 8

When you finish burning the disc, click the "OK" button, close the program and push the disc tray back in to check it.
