Once the ink or toner in a cartridge runs out, it cannot be used with a simple refill, as the manufacturers set up a certain protection system. Here you need to purchase a programmer or replacement chip.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - programmer;
- - flashing program;
- - replaceable chipset.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have a replacement chipset for your laser printer cartridge, install it by first removing its side covers and taking out the old one. Then also close the cartridge, install it in the printer, and proceed to print a test page. Chipsets are usually sold in stores of radio equipment and accessories for printing devices, they can also be found in a set with toner.
Step 2
Purchase a cartridge programmer in computer stores in your city or at points of sale of accessories for copiers. It usually comes as a separate item, but it can also be sold with toner to match your printer model.
Step 3
Carefully study the attached instructions, download the firmware for flashing, if it was not supplied with the programmer; then, in accordance with the instructions, perform the necessary actions with the chipset of your cartridge.
Step 4
If you do not have the skills to work with programmers and you have never disassembled the cartridge yourself, contact third-party organizations to perform service work with your printer. This is especially true for laser printers, since reprogramming inkjet cartridges is easy enough.
Step 5
It is also not recommended to use reprogrammed cartridges during the period covered by the manufacturer's warranty period, as the rules for using printers and multifunctional devices often include the use of new cartridges to replace old ones. In the event of a malfunction, the examination will be able to confirm the use of incorrect cartridges by you, after which the manufacturer will have the right to refuse to fulfill the warranty obligations.
