When using the Microsoft Office Word text editor, sometimes you need to insert footnotes into document pages. Footnotes are used in any type of document, and not necessarily a written book or any printed publication. Creating footnotes is much easier than working with headers and footers or tables of contents.

Step 1
Creating a footnote is a very simple task. To do this, you need to place the cursor after the designated word, which will be a footnote, click the "Insert" menu, select the "Reference" item, click on the "Footnote" item.

The program will automatically take you to the place of the future footnote, where it will be necessary to indicate the full text of the footnote.
Step 3
After creating several footnotes, each of them can be edited. For example, you can specify with which letter or number to start counting footnotes. When you click on the Format menu, choose the Styles and Formatting command, you will see the Styles and Formatting panel.
Step 4
Select the necessary footnotes or footnote text, click on the triangle that appears, select the "Modify" command. This will open the Modify Style window.
