Modern programs use character sets from a unicode table containing more than ten thousand characters. Of course, it is impossible to place such a number of letters, numbers and symbols on a computer keyboard, but this does not mean that access to them is closed to the user. It is not difficult to extract a heart symbol from a unicode table, for example, and it can be done in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the Symbol Map system application. In any modern version of Windows, this can be done through the OS main menu by selecting the link with the same name in the "System" section of the "Standard" subsection of the "All programs" section. In Windows 7, everything is simpler - press the Win key, type "ta" and press Enter.
Step 2
"Symbol table" contains thousands of cells, one of which contains the heart you need. In order not to shovel the entire table, set the filter - check the box in the "Additional parameters" checkbox, and then select the "Unicode Ranges" line in the "Grouping" drop-down list. Another window will be added to the main window of the program, containing the names of groups of symbols - select "Symbols and icons" in it. Among the notes, emoticons and card symbols left after filtering, select a heart - double-click on its cell in the table.
Step 3
Place the icon on the clipboard by clicking the "Copy" button. Then go to the window of the program in whose document you want to place this symbol, position the insertion cursor to the desired position and press the Ctrl + V key combination to paste the contents of the clipboard.
Step 4
If the heart needs to be placed in a Word document, instead of the system symbol table, you can use its analogue built into a word processor. To call it on the screen, go to the application menu on the "Insert" tab and in the "Symbol" drop-down list select "Other symbols".
Step 5
There is no filtering here, but it is possible to quickly move to the desired group of symbols by selecting it in the "Set" drop-down list - set it to "Different symbols". Click the cell with the heart in the table and click the "Insert" button. The use of this table instead of the system table is convenient because after selecting a symbol it gets into the “hit parade” and becomes available in the “Symbol” drop-down list on the “Insert” tab. Those. the next time you insert it into the text, you can do without calling the table.
