If you want to overclock your video card, you need to remember that for its subsequent stable and safe operation, you need a properly selected chip frequency and a good level of cooling. There is a special program for this purpose - RivaTuner. And in order to test the new settings, you can use the 3DMark program.

Instructions
Step 1
So, regardless of what video card model you have, you install RivaTuner. After installation, it collapses into a panel next to the clock, from where it can be removed with a click. In the main window you will see the word "Settings", and next to the triangle, by clicking on which, you will call a new menu. To open the frequency control panel, click on the microcircuit icon in this menu with the inscription “Low-level system settings”.
Step 2
Now you have two sliders, by moving which, you can change the frequencies of the chip and memory. But first, check the box that allows overclocking - it's right above the sliders. The program itself determines the approximate allowable limit for increasing the values, denoting it with labels. We advise you to raise the frequencies gradually, by a few percent. After each frequency change, press the Test button before applying the frequency. Finally, after adjusting the frequencies, check the box "Run with Windows".
Step 3
Next, you need to adjust the speed of the cooler. In the same menu, click on the "Cooler" tab. Allowing the next tick to change the following parameters, let's look at the menu. You can decide whether the fan speed will change automatically when the temperature rises, or set the speed in percentage that you deem necessary. Setting it to 100% (for complete confidence), you will most likely doom yourself to noise, but the video card will remain in optimal temperature conditions.
Step 4
The next step is to test your overclocked graphics card. Run the 3DMark program, choose any of the tests you like and watch the frames from the games that follow. Please be patient, the program calculates the performance over a certain period of time. So, making sure that your system is stable, you will become the owner of a faster video card.
