Step 1
Use Windows tools to remove unused files from the system partition of the hard drive. Open the "My Computer" menu and find the local drive C icon. Right-click on it and select "Properties".

Now click the Disk Cleanup button and wait while the system prepares the list of files to delete. After launching the new menu, open the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Clean" button associated with the "Programs and Features" menu. Highlight the unnecessary program and click the "Uninstall" button.

Uninstall the rest of the programs and utilities in the same way. Return to the Disk Cleanup menu and click the Ok button. In the new window, select "Delete files".

Find and delete unused files yourself. It can be various music tracks, videos and any documents.

Optimize hard drive performance with Smart Defrag. Install this utility and run it. Open the "Advanced settings" menu and activate the "Skip files more" item. Select 50 MB from the drop-down menu.
Step 6
Now return to the main menu of the program, select all local disks and click the "Defragment and Optimize" button. Wait for the utility to complete.
Step 7
Install the CCleaner program. Run it and open the "Registry" tab. Click the Troubleshoot button. After preparing incorrect registry keys, click the "Fix" button.
Step 8
Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Erase Disk". In the first column, select "Free space only". In the Security field, specify the Simple Overwrite option. Highlight the system partition and click the "Erase" button. Wait until the program finishes and restart your computer.
