A mouse arrow, or cursor, in the Windows operating system can have a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. If you are not satisfied with the predefined set of pointers from Microsoft, download and install third-party cursors on your computer.
Instructions
Step 1
By default, any version of Windows has a set of several cursors, the quality and appearance of which is unlikely to satisfy even the most undemanding user. They can be found in the Mouse section of the Windows Control Panel from the Start menu. Opening the "Pointers" tab and selecting one of the presented schemes, you will change the very mouse arrow.
Step 2
If you want to really transform the appearance of the cursor, you should go the other way. For Windows XP, Vista or 7 users, there is a small free version of CursorFX that significantly expands the existing set of mouse pointers. To download the application, go to the official website of the program at https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/downloads.asp and click the Download button at the bottom of the page.
Step 3
Run the downloaded installation file, and after the installation is complete, click the Finish button. If in the last dialog box of the installation wizard you did not uncheck the box next to Run CursorFX now, the application will start automatically and you can immediately start selecting the cursor. If the application does not start, go to the "Start" menu and in the "All Programs" section, find and click the icon of the newly installed utility.
Step 4
In the main application window, open the "My cursors" section in the menu, select the pointer scheme you like and click the "Apply" button to change the cursor. If the proposed set does not seem enough for you, open the section "More cursors!" and click the link in the main window to go to the site where you can download ready-made sets of pointers.
Step 5
After choosing the set you like, click the Download button, and after downloading the executable file, double-click on it. You don't even have to reopen the Cursor FX window - the set of pointers will be immediately changed. In the same way, you can load a new scheme at any time and change the mouse cursor according to the mood.
