Instructions

Step 1

When installing the system, all DLL files necessary for its operation are located in the System32 folder located in the Windows directory. If, when working with system applications, errors occur that indicate the absence of a particular DLL file, you need to copy the libraries to this folder.

Step 2

Find the missing file. You can download it from the Internet, for example, from the Microsoft website, or take it on the system installation disc. Also on the Internet there are special sites-databases of Dll files, which can be found through search engines. Copy the required file to the System32 folder by dragging it there with the mouse or by right-clicking on it and selecting the "Copy" command. After copying, right-click on the free area of the folder and select "Paste".

Step 3

If a DLL missing error occurs when launching a third-party application, find it on the installation disc or on the developer's website. In this case, you need to copy the file to the folder with the installed program.

Step 4

Check DLL files downloaded from the Internet using antivirus to identify possible threats. Some libraries are laid out on the network by malicious viruses and worms deliberately infected, the installation of which may cause even greater problems in the operation of the system. Particularly dangerous are archives with files. Check them with an antivirus before unpacking, or first extract them from the archive into one of the usual folders on your hard drive and check each of them separately.

Step 5

In some cases, the required DLL is present in the folder, but an associated error occurs when the application starts. In this case, you can copy a file with the same name downloaded from another source to the folder, replacing the existing one with it. Pre-copy and paste the previous version of the file into any other folder in case of possible undo changes.
