Instructions

Step 1

Select the files you want to copy. To do this, move the cursor to the file icon and hold it there for a few seconds; when selected, the icon will be highlighted. Or, while holding down the left mouse button, draw a frame around the group of files. Their icons should also change color slightly.

Step 2

If the files you need are on the desktop, right-click on the selection and select the "Copy" command from the drop-down menu. An alternative is to use the Ctrl and C shortcut keys. The selected files will be placed in the clipboard, open the destination folder and use the Ctrl and V or Shift and Insert keys to paste the files. Or, right-click anywhere in the destination folder and select the "Paste" command from the context menu.

Step 3

In the event that the files are in the folder, you have the opportunity to copy them in another way. Highlight the files you want and use the top menu bar. Click on the "Edit" item and select one of the commands in the context menu. When using the "Copy" command, you need to open the destination folder on your computer yourself and paste the files into it using any of the methods described in the second step.

Step 4

The "Copy to folder" command will save you time and select the required directory, while remaining in the window of the folder in which the files are currently stored. Click on the corresponding item with the left mouse button. A new dialog box will open. Specify in it the path for copying files from the active folder and click on the "Copy" button. If necessary, you can create a new folder using the appropriate button.

Step 5

If you see a list of typical tasks in the folder window, select the files you need and in the “Tasks for files and folders” group on the left side of the window, left-click on the “Copy selected objects” link. Further, the procedure will be the same as in the previous step.

Step 6

You can also use the Send command to quickly copy files to a removable storage medium. Click on the selection with the right mouse button, select the specified command from the context menu, specify the path for copying files in the submenu and wait for the operation to complete.
