Errors in Windows Explorer or Explorer.exe can be caused by a variety of reasons. These include viral exposure, the installation of new software and various damage to the conductor.

Step 1
Download and install on your computer a specialized anti-virus application AVZ, distributed free on the Internet. Perform a full scan of the system for viruses and remove them.
Step 2
Find and remove any recently installed programs. It is often the installation of new software that causes Explorer.exe application errors.
Step 3
If these steps did not help to get the explorer back, rerun the AVZ application to restore Explorer.exe to work in automatic mode. Open the "File" menu of the upper service panel of the main program window and select the "System Restore" item. Apply the checkboxes in the "Restore Explorer Settings" line in the opened dialog box and confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the "Perform marked operations" button. Wait for the process to complete and reboot the system to apply the changes made.
Step 4
If you have an installation disc, use the Explorer.exe alternative recovery method. To do this, go to safe mode and open the boot volume. Expand the folder named i386 and find the file named explorer.exe. Transfer it to your computer and rename it explorer.exe. Replace with this file the damaged explorer file in the system folder and reboot the system to save the changes made.
Step 5
Try another way to repair damaged Explorer.exe using the command line utility. To do this, simultaneously press the combination of function keys Ctrl, alt="Image" and Del. this action will launch the Task Manager tool. Use the New Task command in the dispatcher window that opens and type cmd in the next dialog box. Confirm the selected action by clicking the Run button and typing sfc / scannow in the text box of the command interpreter. Insert the installation disc into the drive and confirm the command by pressing the Enter key. Wait for the restoration process to complete.
