For your website script to work, make sure the.php extension is specified for it. This is one of the main conditions. Open the editable web page that contains the script in a dedicated editor program and find its code. Pay attention to the final extension.

In cases where a custom script is in any way associated with one of the elements of the site database, pay special attention to the matching of the names, since it may happen that, for example, the script refers to an object with the same name, but it cannot be found, because named completely different. Also, for the same reason, periodically check the correspondence of the directories of folders specified in the code of the page, this applies to cases of making changes to the database.

Check the location of the script depending on the type of script you are editing. If the script with the.php extension is not in a separate file and it starts something like this: <? Php, just paste it into the site code without using a link. If you are dealing with a client-side script, insert it into the tag. It is usually placed before the end tag. Such scripts have the.js extension and differ from.php in that they are executed directly in the user's browser.

In cases where you configure scripts for a third-party site, require the customer to provide the most complete information regarding the database, since otherwise you may not be able to create the necessary page elements.

When making changes to the database regarding the location or deletion of files, pay special attention to whether the path to them is indicated in the scripts, since after applying the changes they will stop working. Be sure to rewrite the path to files and folders when changing.
