Step 1
If you are using a router to create your home or office network, then it is wiser to connect the printer to this particular network device. This method has several advantages. Connect the network port of the printer to the LAN port of the router. Use a pre-prepared network cable for this.

Now select the computer from which you will be configuring the router. Remember that the printer must be the only device connected to the selected LAN port. Those. connecting the printer through a network hub is highly discouraged. Launch an internet browser and enter the IP address of the router into it. Provide your username and password. Enter the network equipment settings menu.

If you have already set up an Internet connection, then make sure that the NAT function is active in the LAN settings. If you are not using the DHCP function, then additional settings are not required at all. Otherwise, open the Route Table of your network equipment.
Step 4
Now select the LAN port to which the printer is connected and set it to a static IP address. If this cannot be done in the router settings, then connect the printer to your computer or laptop.
Step 5
Install software that allows you to fine-tune the printer's behavior. Run it and set a static IP address for this equipment. It is advisable to use an IP that will differ in the last segment from the addresses of other network devices.
Step 6
Now physically disconnect the printer from the computer. Open the Start menu and go to the Devices and Printers menu. Click the Add Printer button and select the Add a local printer option. Select the port type and click Next. Install the required driver and connect the printer to this computer.
