In our country, the vast majority of offices are small. They have several computers and one or two printers. There is no dedicated server and is not planned for the future. The role of the file exchanger is played by the most powerful computer available. Your task is to configure this entire network and computers so that everyone can print from this printer.

Step 1
The first way. You can connect the printer to one computer on the network, and you can not to the most powerful one and just allow everyone to share. This is the easiest and cheapest way. It is good for very small offices, where there are about 5 computers, and everyone is sitting in the same office. But it has one significant drawback. The computer to which this printer is connected must always be turned on. Otherwise, no one will be able to print anything.
Step 2
You need to set up sharing. Let's say you have Windows XP operating system. Go to Start - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes.

Right click on the installed printer and select Properties from the menu.
Step 4
On the Sharing tab, click the Share this printer button and click OK. A hand should appear on the icon. If it appears, then the printer has been shared.
Step 5
Now you need to configure this printer on all other computers on the network. Go to "Start - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes".
Step 6
Run the Connect Printer Wizard and point to the network printer. To do this, select the overview of printers, and the system itself will find the required printer.

Next, agree to install the drivers and try to print a test page.

Second way. Network connection of a dedicated network printer. It needs to be configured once and can be left alone. Such schemes work for several years. Even if it breaks down, you can simply replace it and set up just the printer. In the first method, if the computer breaks down, you will have to reconnect the printer, reconfigure it on all computers in the network.

When connecting in the second way, we do the same thing, only the full path to the printer is written in the connection wizard. You can also use additional programs that come with the printer. This is even more convenient, as it allows you to more accurately configure the printer.
