The amount of RAM used in a netbook affects the overall performance of the device. To improve performance, you can install additional memory sticks in the laptop. They will be able to increase the speed and stability of the system.
Checking for slots
The standard configuration of modern netbooks rarely includes more than 2GB of RAM. This means that in order to increase the speed of the device, it is necessary to install an additional bar, which can increase this indicator several times.
Not all laptops support memory expansion, and therefore you must first make sure that the operation is possible. Take a screwdriver and unscrew the plastic shutter for the RAM strips. The cover covers part of the device's hardware and is designed to replace the memory without having to disassemble the entire case.
Check for an additional memory slot. If you see another free slot, then the installation of additional RAM is possible. If both slots are occupied, the only option to increase performance is to buy a new larger memory stick.
Buying a new plank
Get new RAM sticks. For example, it would be advisable to purchase one or more 1 GB slats for a device equipped with 1 GB of RAM. Or if you have only one slot for RAM in your device, buy a 2 GB card instead of a 1 GB bar.
When choosing a suitable RAM, pay attention to the strips, the clock frequency of which is approximately equal to that of the module preinstalled in the netbook.
You should not buy memory that is many times larger than the pre-installed memory. A large amount of RAM affects the life of the netbook without charging by increasing power consumption. Also, too much memory may simply not be detected by the computer due to exceeding the permissible limits on the amount of RAM.
Before buying, it is advisable to take the old memory module with you so that sellers in the component store can choose the appropriate type of RAM for the connector used in the netbook.
Installation
The installation process for RAM may vary depending on the device type and netbook model. Fold back the clips that secure the memory in the slot, and then position the bracket so that it fits easily into the desired slot. After installing the strip, the clamps should automatically engage.
Increasing the amount of RAM will have a positive effect on the performance of the netbook in games and resource-intensive applications.
Replace the previously removed netbook cover and screw it back in place. Start your computer and check if it works. Plank installation is complete.
