By default, Skype does not provide the ability to run multiple accounts at the same time on the same computer. But this does not mean that it is impossible to implement the idea. For Windows users, this will not be difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have Skype 5 version (or later) installed on your computer, the procedure will be as follows.
Step 2
Open Windows Explorer. To do this, double-click on the "My Computer" icon or right-click on the "Start" menu icon and select the "Open File Explorer" command.
Step 3
You need to find the folder where the Skype shortcut is located. To do this, click on the hard drive icon "Local drive (C:)", go to the Program Files folder (on some computers this may be the Program Files x86 folder). Then find the Skype folder and in it open the Phone folder.
Step 4
Right-click on the Skype shortcut and select Create Shortcut from the context menu. After that, right-click on the newly created shortcut and add / secondary in the "Object" field at the very end of the command.
Step 5
Note that the / secondary command must be entered after a space. As a result, the following command should be registered in the "Object" field: C: / Program Files / Skype / Phone / Skype.exe / secondary.
Step 6
Rename the shortcut to avoid confusion in the future. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select the "Rename" command in the context menu. Enter the name of Skype 2 or the name of your second Skype account. You can rename the original shortcut to Skype 1 or enter the name of your first account.
Step 7
Now you can run two Skype accounts at the same time, using the original shortcut for the first and the one you created for the second.
Step 8
If you have Skype 4 version (or earlier) installed on your computer, the procedure will be as follows.
Step 9
Right-click on the Skype shortcut icon and add the following to the command in the Object field: / secondary. As a result, the command should look like this: C: / Program Files / Skype / Phone / Skype.exe / secondary.
Step 10
Now every double click on this shortcut will launch a new copy of the program.
