Methods for installing a second operating system on a computer vary in detail, but follow a general algorithm. In this case, Windows XP is installed on a computer with Windows 7 already installed.
Necessary
- - a computer that meets the minimum Microsoft requirements for Windows XP and Windows 7;
- - installed OS Windows 7;
- - Windows XP installation disc
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to enter the main menu of the system and go to the "Control Panel".
Step 2
Select "System and Security" and open "Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions" to create a Windows XP installation partition.
Step 3
Call the service menu by right-clicking on the field of the partition selected to create the Windows XP installation partition, and select the "Shrink volume" item.
Step 4
Specify the desired number of megabytes for the new volume in the "Compressed space (MB)" section of the "Compress disk_name:" dialog box and click OK to execute the command.
Step 5
Insert the Windows XP installation disc into the drive and restart your computer.
Step 6
Specify "Boot from CD / DVD" in the installation menu.
Step 7
Specify the created partition to install the operating system in the next dialog box.
Step 8
Wait for the installation to complete and log in (available for Windows XP only).

Download and install. Net Framrwork 2.0 and EasyBCD.
Step 10
Open the EasyBCD application and select Add / Remove Entries from the menu on the left side of the application.

Specify the type of operating system Windows NT / 2k / XP / 2k3 in the Type field and the name of the bootable system in the Name field (for example, Microsoft Windows XP).
Step 12
Click the Add Entry button and wait for the new operating system to appear in the OS to boot list.

Click the Save button in the upper right corner of the window to save the changes made in the system.
Step 14
Click the Manage Bootloader button in the left menu of the program and check the Reinstall the Vista Bootloader box for normal functioning of both operating systems.
Step 15
Click on the Write MBR button and close the EasyBCD application to complete the operation.
Step 16
Reboot your computer. The choice of the operating system for work is carried out by the standard Windows boot manager and depends only on the wishes of the user.
