A computer mouse is such a simple and familiar device, without which a computer is practically unthinkable that many users do not even suspect how much more convenient their daily work can become if the mouse is configured correctly.
Let's list some settings that everyone can try to change and thus adapt the behavior of the manipulator in a convenient way. Note that the mouse manipulators are distinguished by a wide variety of designs: the number of buttons, wheels and various other controls varies, so that some settings may differ from model to model.
All of the above settings are made in the Control Panel, the Mouse item.
1. The speed of movement of the pointer. If there are problems with the positioning accuracy of the mouse pointer, then it is better to lower the speed, and if there is not enough space on the table to move the mouse, then it can be increased.
2. Double click speed. Although double-clicking is used less and less, nevertheless, it will not be possible to completely do without it. Adjust the speed of the double-click so that double-clicking is easy, but two consecutive single-presses are not mistaken for double-clicking.
3. Scrolling speed. Adjust the reaction to the movement of the mouse wheel so that the text scrolls fast enough, but not too abruptly. If the mouse has a wheel, but there is no scroll setting, then the wrong driver is installed. Install the driver from the disk that came with the manipulator, or find the latest version on the manufacturer's website.
4. On the "Pointers" tab, you can change the appearance of mouse pointers, making them more visible or more pleasing to the eye and interesting.
For the most advanced models of the manipulator, a special program is usually supplied with it, which allows you to configure the mouse. In particular, you can define the so-called gestures (cursor movements of a certain shape, with which you can initiate various events in the system without pressing keys, for example, minimize windows, launch applications, etc.), as well as use various specific functions of a particular model manipulator. Most of the mouse settings are quite safe, so feel free to experiment with them.
