The easiest way to organize the contents of your computer is to sort documents and any other files into folders on various media. This is how all computer programs are programmed to operate. However, not only for software, but also for live users, this opportunity is not superfluous.
Instructions
Step 1
First, you need to select a location on the computer disk where the new folder will be created. To do this, launch Windows Explorer, of your choice, either by pressing the WIN and E (Russian - U) buttons combination, or by double-clicking on the "My Computer" icon.
Step 2
In the left pane of the explorer, a tree of folders is displayed, by which you need to go to the one in which you have planned to create a new one. Here you can navigate not only through folders, but also across the disks of your computer, if there are several of them. And if your computer is part of a local network, then you can look into someone else's computer. True, by default, only one shared folder is available to outside visitors on other people's computers.
Step 3
Click on the desired folder to access the content. A list of files will appear in the right pane.
Step 4
Now you need to right-click on the free space in the right pane of the explorer - somewhere between the file icons or below the entire list. This will bring up a new menu - this right-click menu is commonly referred to as “contextual”. One of the items in the context menu will be "Create". Hover your mouse over it and you will see a list of everything you can create in that location. The very first item here will be exactly what you need - "Folder". Click - and the folder will be created.
Step 5
Each folder must have its own name; by default, the computer suggests to name all newly created folders "New folder". You can change this name immediately or later. If immediately, then after clicking on the item to create a new folder, you can simply start typing the desired name, and when finished, press Enter and the name will be assigned to this folder. If later, then press Enter after creating a new folder and the name "New folder" will be assigned to it. To change it later, right-click, select Rename from the context menu and start typing the new name. Press Enter when finished.
