Instructions

Step 1

If you reset the default settings, the basic Bios settings that were set as default will be used. This can be done in several ways. The first one is resetting the settings directly from the Bios menu. To do this, go to Bios, then go to the Exit tab.

Step 2

Then select the Load Setup Defaults option. The computer will restart and all settings will be restored. But there are times when this technique does not help. In this case, other methods will help you.

Step 3

Unplug your computer from the electrical outlet. Next, unscrew the fastening screws, and then remove the cover of the system unit. Locate the battery on the motherboard. It is this battery that is responsible for saving the settings. Now you need to act depending on the situation. Look for a small jumper near the battery. If you manage to find the jumper, then simply move it to another position. The settings will then be reset to zero.

Step 4

Also, instead of a switch, you may find a button. There should be an inscription CMOS next to it. This is the reset button. Click on it. After that, the settings will be restored.

Step 5

If your motherboard does not have a reset button or a switch, then you need to proceed as follows. At the bottom near the battery there is a small latch, it is clearly visible. Take a regular screwdriver and press down on the latch. Then remove the battery from the slot.

Step 6

After the battery is removed, you need to wait for a while. Each motherboard model requires a different reset time. On some it is one or two minutes, on others it is more than an hour. Then put the battery back in. After that, the Bios settings will be restored to default.
