Components are various elements of the operating system that are designed to improve its performance. Windows operating system components are supplied by Microsoft. They can be installed in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
Configure your operating system to automatically download and install components. They are released as special updates. Right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties. Click on the "Automatic Updates" tab. Specify the appropriate settings item. The option "Download updates automatically" is initially active. You can also choose to install update components manually or disable downloading them altogether.
Step 2
Make sure you have an active internet connection, otherwise updates will not be able to download. Pay attention to the lower right corner of the screen, where the icon should be in the form of a yellow exclamation mark or a globe. Click on it and wait until the system checks all available updates. In the list that appears, select the components you need and click "Download". The system will download the updates automatically.
Step 3
Restart your computer. The system will close the entire application and start installing the downloaded components. During this process, do not turn off the computer, as this can lead to various failures. Usually, the installation is done quickly enough, after which the computer restarts.
Step 4
Visit Microsoft to manually install the updates you want. Here you can download components for various applications such as the Office suite, Internet Explorer, and others, as well as the latest drivers and system security updates.
