Step 1
Take a bootable disc with integrated Acronis True Image Home. If you do not have such a disk, download the program from the Internet and burn the startup disk. This program belongs to paid software, so only a temporary version will be available to you without payment. You can also find it on the official website of the developers acronis.ru.
Step 2
Boot your computer from the Acronis True Image Home disc. To do this, go to the motherboard BIOS and set the boot order first from the DVD drive, and only then from the hard drive. Save the changes and after restarting your computer choose to boot Acronis True Image Home.
Step 3
Wait for the program to start. Select "Backup", and then select the partition of the hard drive from which you want to take a copy. Leave the option "Create a new backup archive" checked and click "Next". Specify the location on the hard drive to store the backup. Give a name that you understand for the image, so that even after a decent amount of time has passed, you will remember what kind of image it is.
Step 4
Go to "Options" to configure additional settings. Here you can specify the compression level, the password for the archive, as well as the need to check the archive after its creation. Click the "Proceed" button for the program to start executing the task. Be prepared to wait a long time; it is best to leave your computer running overnight. Update the copy periodically so that if data becomes corrupted, you will have the latest versions.
