If you want to get the most out of your torrent client, you need to configure it properly. Tuning consists in optimizing some parameters that are responsible for regulating the connection speed. The best optimization can only be achieved by empirical selection of values. But if you take advantage of someone's experience, you can set up a client in a few minutes.

Step 1
Install the client to your hard drive. The program is distributed absolutely free of charge.
Step 2
Download the Half-open limit fix program to your computer. This program is responsible for the number of half-open connections for your network. It makes a change to the system file tcpip.sys. By default, there are 10 connections in the settings, but for the client to work, this is a low value. So set a value between 100 and 500. Basically, 100 connections are okay. But if you are a fan of a lot of information, then bet more.
Step 3
Start the client. In the main window of the program, click the "Options" - "Preferences" menu. Or press the key combination Ctrl + P. You will see the Utorrent settings window. Open the 3rd tab "Folders". Here you need to specify the folder in which the files that have not yet been downloaded will be stored. It is worth noting that the partition on which they will be stored must be converted to NTFS.
Step 4
The next tab is "Connection". Here you need to specify your port. By default, the program can generate any port. It is advisable to know your port. If you know how to enter the modem settings, then the port is always indicated in the general settings. Access to the modem settings is carried out by entering the ip of your provider into the address bar of the browser. After that, you need to enter registration data - login and password. As a rule, these are the words admin.
Step 5
We step over to the BitTorrent tab. In this tab, we put marks in the form of flags opposite the following items:
- enable DHT network;
- enable DHT for new torrents;
- enable the exchange of peers;
- speed limit for local peers.
All other items, except for "Protocol encryption" remain unchecked.
Step 6
On the "Priority" tab, set "Coefficient" = "-1%", and also set the distribution time in minutes - set "0".
Save the settings and close the edit window. The correct setting will be the green connection icon at the bottom of the program.
