People constantly need photographs for documents - to change passports, get a job, undergo various examinations, go to universities, etc. It costs a lot of money to make a documentary photo in a salon. However, you can save money and hand over everything yourself by paying only for printing a regular 10x15 cm photo. Let's prepare a 3x4 cm document photo without corners for printing on our own.

Instructions

Step 1

Select or take a photo of the person looking for a ID photo against a light, uniform background. There must be a distance between the top of the head and the top edge of the photo. The photo should end somewhere at chest level. The shoulders should be in the frame, but the arms should not be visible. Open the photo in Adobe Photoshop. Edit it: color correction, desaturate if necessary. Do not under any circumstances change your appearance (eye color, nose thickness, face size and shape, etc.).

Step 2

Crop the photo with the "Frame" tool, if necessary, so that only what you need is left on it. In the Image-Image Size menu (not to be confused with the canvas size), change the "print size" parameters to 3x4 cm. It's okay if there is a slight deviation, for example, 3x3, 96 cm. If the proportions are too far from required, click Cancel and again, use the "Frame" to correct the photo. After that, you can return to editing the image size. Check that the resolution is 300 ppi. The photo is ready to go.

Step 3

Now choose File - New from the menu. In the window that appears, set the following parameters: set - photo, size - portrait 4x6. The width and height are automatically set in inches. For convenience, you can convert these indicators to centimeters. Resolution should be 300 ppi, color mode should be RGB 8-bit colors, background content should be white. Click Ok. A new document will be created on which the main work will be based.

Step 4

Go to a document with a reduced photo. Take a photo with the Move tool and drag it into the document you just created. The snapshot will automatically be placed on a new layer. 9 photos can be placed on a sheet of 10x15 cm format. Therefore, create eight more copies of the photo layer and place them evenly, leaving small fields between the shots. Save your work in ".jpg" format in the best quality and you can start printing.
