Step 1
Make sure your computer actually has bluetooth. Manufacturers produce similar models of laptops, and even if the computer has a button to turn on bluetooth, this wireless protocol is not necessary at all. There should be a sticker on the panel of your computer to guarantee the built-in bluetooth device.
Step 2
Check if the drivers are installed for good bluetooth performance. By default, after installing the program, a shortcut appears on the desktop, when you click on which, bluetooth is turned on. If not, use the installation discs that were sold with the computer, or download the driver from the official website of the laptop manufacturer.
Step 3
So, double click on the bluetooth shortcut. Turn on bluetooth on your phone or other device you want to connect to your computer. The main menu of the program will open in front of you.

Click on the "Search for devices" button. The computer will detect all devices that have activated bluetooth within a radius of 30 meters. Select the device you want to connect to your computer. Click on its name.
Step 5
If you have connection protection enabled, the bluetooth program will ask you to enter a special code to confirm the connection. This can be a code specified by the settings of a portable device (for example, a phone or a player), or a bluetooth code on a computer. Enter this code both on the computer and on the device connected to it.
Step 6
There are situations when there is no fixed code, but bluetooth requires confirmation of connection. In this case, enter an arbitrary code. For example, 12345. The main thing is that this combination of numbers is dialed in the same way both in the connection window on the computer and in the phone request.
Step 7
After entering the code, click "OK" or "Connect" (depending on the manufacturer).
Step 8
When transferring files from one device to another, do not forget to agree to the acceptance and saving of information in the corresponding window.
