It is difficult to imagine modern life without DVDs, they have become almost generally available. And with the widespread use of PCs to watch discs, it is not at all necessary to have a special player at home - you can play a DVD disc on a computer.
It is necessary
- - PC with DVD drive;
- - a program on a computer to display DVD;
- - codecs for watching DVD.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch any player installed on your PC. Turn on Windows Media Player by clicking on "Start" and in the "All Programs" tab, selecting the player folder. Install compatible codecs. To do this, install the MPEG-2 DVD decoder.
Step 2
If an error message appears on the PC screen indicating that there is no compatible DVD decoder, click on the "Web Help" link in the error message window. The help section gives you information on how to get it.
Step 3
Select the sound quality. Connect stereo speakers or a pair of speakers. Please use the built-in speaker if available. Find out the performance of your PC. The frequency must be at least 266 MHz to reproduce 30 (NTSC) or 25 (PAL) frames per second. The video card must support Overlay in hardware - a mode that allows you to see the color depth on the screen (24 bits).
Step 4
Insert the DVD into your drive. Play should start automatically. If not, select the disc inserted in the drive in the My Computer folder. Click the Now Playing arrow below the tab. Then the drive that contains the disc.
Step 5
Select “List” in the navigation area of the player's library and click on the title of the DVD disc, chapter, chapter or track. If the disc menu does not appear, click the Movies tab. Select the "Play DVD" command. Click the appropriate button (usually Play) to start the disc. Controls will appear during playback if you move the mouse.
Step 6
Play Blu-ray and HD DVD discs with PowerDVD or The KMPlayer. Select "Open" from the menu ("Open file" and corresponding analogs in English) and specify the path to the file. In most cases, this path looks like “My Computer” → “DVD Drive” → “File Name”.
