Instructions

Step 1

You need to save the BIOS menu settings based on the BIOS version. One of the options for saving the settings is as follows. Select all the options you want and then press the ESC key. A window should appear in which you can save your selected parameters. You will see several options to choose from. In some BIOS versions, you must select the Save end Exit option, in other versions, instead of this menu, a window will simply appear asking Save Y / N, that is, to save the parameters or not. The Y (YES) key means “save parameters”. Accordingly, you need to press this key on the keyboard.

Step 2

You can also save the settings in this way. In the BIOS menu, go to the Exit tab. Several options for exiting the BIOS should appear. Among these options, select Save end Exit. If you selected the Exit tab, but there are no options to exit the BIOS there, then just press Enter. After that, press the Y key. Immediately after saving the settings, the computer will definitely restart and start in normal mode. It is after a reboot that the changes take effect.

Step 3

Sometimes there are times when, when the computer is disconnected from the power supply, the BIOS settings are reset to automatic or are simply not saved. That is, after choosing the option to save the settings, the computer restarts, but even after the restart, the changes do not take effect. The solution may be to simply replace the battery on your motherboard. You can buy such a battery in most computer stores. When you replace it, all BIOS settings are reset to default.

Step 4

Even if you cannot save the settings after replacing the battery, updating the BIOS may help. To do this, go to the website of your motherboard manufacturer, download the latest BIOS and update it. The update process is very fast and doesn't take long.
