It is necessary

  • - crosshead screwdriver;
  • - metal spatula;
  • - thermal paste;
  • - tweezers;
  • - a piece of cloth.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary tools and proceed to disassemble the mobile computer. Unplug the laptop from AC power and remove the battery from the laptop. Turn the mobile computer over and remove all screws from the bottom of the case.

Step 2

Remove the DVD drive from the laptop case. Open the trays containing the RAM and hard drive. Unplug these devices and remove them from the laptop.

Step 3

Now carefully detach the bottom wall of the case. Use a metal spatula or a wide flat screwdriver for this. Be sure to disconnect the cables from the motherboard to the keyboard and other elements.

Step 4

Locate the fan installed on the CPU cooling heatsink. Disconnect the cooler from the motherboard. Bend the latches and remove the radiator together with the cooler.

Step 5

Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe off the remaining thermal paste first from the CPU and then from the heatsink. Apply new thermal grease to the processor surface. Be very careful! Never apply paste to the processor veins or any other contacts.

Step 6

Put the heatsink back together with the cooler and secure these devices. Carefully assemble the laptop case, after connecting the necessary cables. Wait 10-15 minutes, allowing the thermal paste to spread evenly and dry a little.

Step 7

Turn on the laptop and open the BIOS menu. Go to the item that displays the temperature states of important elements of the mobile computer. Make sure the CPU temperature is within acceptable limits. If it is too high, perform a thorough cleaning of the entire laptop cooling system.
