It is customary to refer to the Mac-address of a computer's network card as a unique identification number assigned to it during the production process. The definition and change of the Mac address on computers running Windows can be done by the user.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the existing Mac address of the computer's network card. To do this, call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button, and go to the "Run" dialog. Type cmd in the "Open" line and confirm the launch of the command line utility by clicking OK.
Step 2
Type ipconfig / all in the Windows command interpreter text box and confirm the selected action by pressing the Enter function key. Find the line "Physical Address" and locate the existing Mac address of the computer's network card.
Step 3
Return to the main menu "Start" to perform the procedure for changing the existing Mac-address of the network interface card of your computer and open the context menu of the item "My Computer" by clicking the right mouse button. Point to "Manage" and select "Device Manager" in the left pane of the application window.
Step 4
Expand the link "Network adapters" in the directory of the dialog box that opens and find the network card you are using in the list. Call the context menu of the found network card by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Select the "Advanced" tab in the dialog box that opens and expand the "Network address" node in the directory of the "Property" section. Change the value of the Mac address in the special "Value" column on the right side of the dialog box and save your changes by clicking OK.
Step 5
Alternatively, you can use the "Control Panel" item in the main "Start" menu and select the "Network and Internet" link. Next, go to the "Network and Sharing Center" and expand the "Change adapter settings" node. Call the context menu of the "Local Area Connection" line by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Click the "Configure" button and make the necessary changes.
