You can imagine at least 2 cases when a change of MAC address is required. Either you need to access the network from two different home PCs, or the computer has two OSes and two network cards, each of which is supported by only one OS.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the start menu. Select "Control Panel".

Step 2

Double-click the left mouse button on the computer icon. Make sure that the shortcut is named "System", thereby you will be taken to the control panel with the settings of the operating system and hardware installed on your computer. A window named "System Properties" will open.

Step 3

Go to the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button, as a result of which you will be presented with a list of all physical and system devices installed on your computer.

Step 4

Go to the "Network cards" item and open the drop-down list by clicking on the "plus" next to the item name. In the list that appears, select the network card for which you need to change the MAC address.

Step 5

Right-click on the required network card in the list, thereby calling the context menu. In this menu, select "Properties".

Step 6

Go to the "Advanced" tab in the "Properties" window that opens. You will notice a list in which you should select the item "Network address".

Step 7

Check the box next to the empty input field - this will activate the ability to write your own MAC address value.

Step 8

Enter the required value of the network address, taking into account that you need to write it down in the same way as the base value was initially set - i.e. no hyphens or spaces.

Step 9

Click the "OK" button after completing the data entry. After that, all other windows can be closed - the new value of the network address has already been assigned to your card and you do not even need to restart your computer.

Step 10

To check the result of your actions, press the key combination Win + R and in the window that appears, type in the command “cmd” (without quotes). Hit Enter. In the new window that appears, type the command “ipconfig / all” and also press the Enter button, after which you will see a list of your computer's network settings. Find the name of your network card in this list and pay attention to the value of the item "Physical address". This is your MAC address, which you recently changed.
