The power of almost any laptop can be increased by overclocking one of its main components - the processor. The process of overclocking, that is, hardware overclocking, although quite complicated, but modern programs and utilities allow not only experienced users to do this, but also beginners. Since the power of a laptop, unlike a home PC, cannot be increased by purchasing a more powerful processor, you just have to overclock it.

Step 1
To increase the frequency of the laptop processor, you need a special program. Download the SetFSB application from the Internet. It is on the example of this program that the overclocking process will be described. After downloading SetFSB, install it on your laptop.
Step 2
Run the program. In the Clock Generator line, select the PLL chip model that is installed on the laptop. You can find the name of the chip model in the technical documentation for your laptop or on the manufacturer's website.
Step 3
After selecting the PLL chip, click on the Get FSB command. The program menu will appear, which displays the current speed of your processor and other frequencies that act as options for overclocking the processor. Opposite the Get FSB command is the Ultra line. Check the box next to this line.
Step 4
Now pay attention to the two sliders in the program window. Do not touch the lower slider, you will not need it. All manipulations will take place with the top slider. Move it slightly to the right side. The processor speed will increase by 20-40 MHz. Now click on the Set FSB command. The acceleration parameter is saved. The processor is now faster.
Step 5
Next, you need to check the stability of the laptop at this frequency. Download and run Prime95 software. The laptop load modes will appear. Choose the second one. Testing of the laptop will begin in an overclocked state. If within 10 minutes the laptop has not rebooted or frozen, then it will work normally in this mode. Now you can overclock the processor a little more.
Step 6
In this way, overclock the power of the laptop until it starts to reboot during Prime95 testing. Don't worry, the laptop is safe. After rebooting, its last operating frequency will simply be restored. This completes the overclocking process.
