A flash drive is a device with which information is transferred from one computer to another. There are often situations when you need to write files to a USB flash drive. This may be useful, for example, if you are backing up documents or just want to transfer your photos to a friend. In this case, there are two main ways to write data to a USB flash drive. The first method is copying, the second is sending.
It is necessary
Computer with installed Windows operating system, USB flash drive
Instructions
Step 1
To simplify the transfer of information to a USB flash drive and not go into different directories, collecting information "bit by bit", copy everything that you are going to transfer into one folder. After that, insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the computer and wait for it to be detected by the computer. The Windows operating system can then install the necessary drivers as needed. This entire process takes place automatically without user intervention. When it finishes, the flash drive will be visible through "My Computer" ("Computer" in Windows Vista / 7) as a separate removable drive. Before copying files, make sure there is enough free space on the flash drive.
Step 2
To transfer information to a USB flash drive by copying, open the folder or file that you are going to copy in Windows Explorer. Right click on it and select "Copy". After that, open "My Computer" (or just "Computer"), go to the USB flash drive, right-click and click "Paste". Be sure to wait until the copying process is complete.
Step 3
To transfer information to a USB flash drive by sending, also find and open the information you need in Windows Explorer. Click on this folder or file with the right mouse button and select "Send" in the menu that opens. In the list that appears, find your USB flash drive and click on the corresponding item in the list. Wait for the end of the copying process.
