Despite the fact that operations with information transfer are not difficult steps, a large number of users often have problems. As practice shows, it is especially difficult to extract information from a portable medium.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - USB drive;
- - information on the USB stick.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, prepare the media, namely the USB flash drive from which you want to extract information. On a computer, this operation can be performed in several ways. Insert the USB into the dedicated slot on your computer. After a few seconds, the device will be automatically read, and a menu will appear in which you will need to choose how to use the media.
Step 2
Click on "Open File Explorer". This is the best option as you need to see all the files stored on the USB device. You can also open My Computer. Next, select the USB flash drive by clicking the right mouse button and click on the "Open via Explorer" item.
Step 3
Review all files to be checked out. Try to place everything in folders so that in the future there will be no problems with finding this or that information. Next, open the folder on your computer's hard drive where you will need to extract all files from the USB flash drive. Then collapse it, or just reduce the size.
Step 4
Drag and drop files from a USB flash drive. Take a file from a USB drive and transfer it to a folder on your PC's hard drive. If you need to transfer all files completely to your computer, you can press CTRL + A to select all folders and files. Next press CTRL + C to copy. Open a folder on your computer and press the key combination CTRL + V. Alternatively, right-click and select Paste.
Step 5
As soon as all the information from the flash drive is extracted, do not rush to physically pull the device out of the computer. This is the most common user error, after which problems with the operation of a USB drive often arise. In the tray, click on "Safely Remove Hardware". Next, select your USB flash drive. And click the Stop button. Then you can remove the device from the USB socket.
