Many novice musicians are wondering how to connect a mixing console to a multichannel sound device. Which remote to choose and how to ensure the smooth operation of all studio components? Depending on the type of remote control, the connection methods will be slightly different.

Instructions

Step 1

Connect the mixing console and the card. If you have a multichannel sound card and, say, an 8-socket remote control, then make the connection as follows. Since one mixing jack has both input and output properties, and in the sound card these properties are represented by separate jacks, solder 8 music cables (in principle, you can buy ready-made ones). There must be 2 signal wires inside each cable. Then "cut" them with twenty-four jacks (plugs). Eight of them are stereo (for mixer) and sixteen are mono (for sound card).

Step 2

To connect the mixer to your computer, use two cinch-to-minijack cables and connect the outputs of your sound card to the inputs of the mixer. After that, in the installed emulator program, set the option to use an external mixing console and start working. To connect a mixer, in any case, you need a multi-channel sound card with 2 or more audio outputs. Virtual Deck A on Tractor or VirtualDJ will play the first output, and B will play the second output. The signal coming from them will come in exactly the same way as from a real player or turntable.

Step 3

Purchase special connection cables. Two signal wires must be routed inside them. A certain number of sockets are installed on the cables, and the connection is made. Thus, using different drivers, you can output several independent audio channels at once. This will provide a multitrack audio effect.

Step 4

If you have a USB remote, just plug it into the USB output of your computer. This is the newest among mixers and is by far the most convenient tool. Of course, with such a remote control the playback quality suffers a little, but this option is quite suitable for rehearsals and recording demo albums.
