Enabling and disabling services, including print services, in the Windows operating system is a standard procedure and does not involve additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Control Panel" item to start the print service. Expand the "Administration" link by double-clicking the mouse and expand the "Computer Management" node. Go to the "Services" section and also double-click to open the "Print Spooler" item.
Step 2
Select the "Auto" option in the drop-down list of the "Startup Type" line. To immediately enable the print service, use the Start button located below the Status line.
Step 3
Use an alternative method to start the service you want. To do this, return to the main Start menu and go to the Run dialog. Type net start spooler on the Open line and confirm the start of the print service by clicking OK.
Step 4
Another way to enable the selected service is to use the same Run dialog. Enter services.msc in the "Open" line and confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button. Specify the "Print Spooler" service in the opened catalog of system services and enable it by clicking "Start service".
Step 5
To automatically enable the selected service, return to the main "Start" menu and go to the settings section. Open the "Control Panel" and enter the service menu of the "Printer" item by double-clicking. Select the Use Print Manager option in the available printers directory and confirm the changes made by clicking OK. The success of this procedure will be indicated by the appearance of the print service icon in the notification area.
Step 6
To disable the print service, use the "Run" dialog. Type net stop spooler in the "Open" line and confirm the selected action by clicking the OK button.
