Step 1
First, determine which of your laptops will act as the proxy server. It is recommended to choose the most powerful mobile computer for this purpose. Please also note that it must always be turned on for the second laptop to access the Internet. Connect the network cable of the provider to the network card of the selected mobile computer.
Step 2
Set up your internet connection normally. Leave this connection for a while and create a wireless local area network. Windows Seven has made this process much easier. Open the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the network icon in the system tray. Go to the "Manage Wireless Networks" menu.
Step 3
Click the Add button. Specify the type of network "computer-to-computer". Set a name for your future wireless network, select a security type and enter a rather strong password. Click the Next and Finish buttons.
Step 4
Open the settings of your wireless network adapter. Select the Internet Protocol TCP / IPv4 and click the Properties button. Set the static IP address for this adapter to 176.176.176.1.
Step 5
Now turn on the second mobile computer. Connect to the wireless network created on the first computer. Open adapter properties as described in the previous step. Enter the following parameters for the items in the menu that appears:
176.176.176.2 - IP address;
255.255.0.0 - Subnet mask;
176.176.176.1 - The main gateway;
176.176.176.1 - Preferred DNS server.
Step 6
Now open the internet connection properties of the first laptop. If you use a VPN connection to connect to your provider, then you should have two icons: local network and Internet. Select the internet icon. Open the Access menu. Allow other network users to use these connections by checking the box next to the first item. Enter your wireless network. Save your connection settings.
