Step 1
After installing the operating system or replacing the video card, start looking for the right software. Most of the video adapters are manufactured using technologies from nVidia and ATI. Check the model name of the video card you are using.
Step 2
Visit the website www.nvidia.ru or www.ati.com/ru. Go to the "Support & Drivers" menu. Fill out the form provided. Pay special attention to the first paragraph of the table. Select the Desktop or Notebook option depending on the type of computer you are using.
Step 3
After filling in the table, click the Search button and download the proposed software. Run the installer file and install the program following the instructions of the step-by-step menu.
Step 4
When working with mobile computers, certain difficulties can arise associated with the selection of suitable drivers. Most often, this problem is observed when using Intel processors in conjunction with ATI video adapters. Visit www.intel.com.
Step 5
Download the software required to configure the integrated video chip. Install the downloaded software. After that, try again to install the drivers for the video adapter.
Step 6
Restart your computer or laptop. Right click on a free area of the desktop and open AMD Control Center or nVidia Control Panel.
Step 7
Adjust the settings for the video adapters. When changing configurations of the mobile computer, check the name of the active video adapter. Disable automatic change of video cards when connecting (disconnecting) the power cable.
Step 8
Use Driver Pack Solution to update and activate drivers automatically. Be sure to create an operating system restore point before each change to driver settings.
