You can find out the name of the motherboard model in different ways. Both systemic (computer properties) and using special software (for example, Everest).
Instructions
Step 1
The most elementary way to find out the model of the motherboard is to look at the documents that were given to you, with complete information about the computer. Any computer store must provide such documents as a special driver CD for the motherboard (which can also be used to find the name of the motherboard). If for some reason such documents are absent, it remains only to look for such information in the computer itself.
Step 2
First of all, the name of the motherboard can be viewed in the basic input / output system (Bios). In order to enter there, you need to do the following: when turning on the computer, press the del button several times. Press the button until a special menu appears (BIOS Setup). There you need to select the Advanced BIOS Features item, and look at the very top of the motherboard model. It should be noted that this method is not suitable for all cases, in some motherboards there is no information about the motherboard. This method is more suitable if you need to find out the model, but not get into the operating system in any way (for example, a malfunction).
Step 3
Undoubtedly, such information can be obtained using the operating system. You need to call this procedure like this:
•Start
• Execute
• Enter msinfo32 and click OK.
There should appear a list of all the components of your computer.
Step 4
However, there is another similar method. The analogy is made for a reason, since sometimes msinfo32 is "n / d" in the item of the motherboard. If you have a DirectX application installed, you can do about the same test, you can do it like this:
•Start
• Execute
• Enter dxdiag and click OK.
Step 5
Also, in order to find out the model of the motherboard, other programs are used. Such as, for example, Everest, Sandra Software, PCWizard, etc. In this case, it is enough just to install any of this list, and accordingly get all the information about the components of your computer.
